These images were taken June 13th at the Emporium (Patchogue, LI) where Aaron Lewis from Staind performed. Awesome show

All image were wide open except this first one which was f/4.

Brian: amazing shots. Well done. Was it difficult to obtain focus, the light must have been difficult to handle?

I've got one of these beauties on it's way. My line-up of lenses is exactly the same as yours, funny enough.

Thank you. The challenging part of focusing that event was the distance. Although I was close to the stage, I was still far enough away to be focusing close to infinity. I think as with most manual focus lenses, it becomes more and more difficult to focus at greater distances relative to your respective lens. The other difficulty was having to sneak my "big" camera in, as the door men put it..

I took this lens to a marathon on Sunday, and I was very pleased with its performance. Below is a random image I captured of a runner using her cell phone to take a picture:

Nikkor 105/2.5 Factory Ai'd, on the Df. The "K" version has F32 on it, the Ai version stops down to F22. Nikon went back and forth, by F32- diffraction is an issue.

Wide-Open,

This lens is sharp, and undercorrected for spherical aberration. Some thought it was "Too Sharp" for portraits, and the Nikkor 85/2 addressed that concern- and is not quite as sharp.

But- "works for me".

I usually shoot the 105/2.5 AI on the Df, but had chance to use it at a stage show at a Chinese Lantern Festival. It really surprised me how well it worked on the D500. I was stuck in my spot and at times the 105 on APS-C was a bit too tight, but you make lemonade from the lemons you are given. Shot between f/2.5 and f/4
