Great shot Robert. Very sharp, well composed and natural. You've captured the moment and that's what makes it interesting.

I love the detail in this Matt. Subtle colors are great also. I think that's a Coleus, and some of them have brilliant colors.

Thanks, I'm pretty hopeless on plant and flower names although I love all flora, even weeds.

I just picked up this lens off of ebay for 100 bucks (perfect glass, less than perfect body). Wonderful smooth and sure focus ring. Built like a tank. I can't say how impressed I am with the sharpness of this lens and the very creamy and pleasing bokeh (to me at least).

For the price I just don't think there is a better value and this lens is very light (weight wise).

These were both shot on D700 while I was testing the lens.

This is one of my favorite lens, Jim. I shot these on the Kelby photowalk in the rain in Leesburg on Oct 1. Love the bokeh

Arrived today. Very exciting. Appears to be a good lens pick for the first MF endeavor with the D7000.

I used the 105/2.5 AIS in the Photo Meme the past week, and really fell in love with it again.

Here's a photo I posted there. It's a 13-exposure focus stack using Helicon Focus:
