Some new ones. Ever since I received the Tripod collar from a German shop, this lens is more or less never taken off my camera.

Wow, that last shot is amazing! It looks the fly is wearing contacts. :biggrin:

I didn't know somebody made a tripod collar for this lens. Also, what magniifcation ratio do you get from that Raynox DCR-250?

The tripod collar is from a guy called Burzynski. He also makes more sturdy tripods for the AF-S 300/4, for example. You can order his stuff at Isar Photo (German online store), but I have no clue if they ship abroad.

To be honest, I also have no clue what magnification ratio you get with the Raynox. I just put it on whenever I think I need higher magnification ratio The DCR-250 is 8 diopters, if that helps you.

I had a look at this lens while in the camera store recently...and was totally WOW'd by it....it had me in just those few moments. I pick up mine on Monday...and can't wait!!!

These are all specatacular, but the fly with the water drop on it's eye is outstanding!

I have not 105/2.8 VR, but I must say this thread is one of the best regarding overall quality of pictures posted here. I`m really impressed of possibility of the glass and skills of the owners.

Great shots! The out of focus background rendering is so smooth and the lighting on the bug is so well done. How was it lit?
