Might be a silly question, but I am curious how many of you have used / use a ND or polarizer filter with this lens? I am thinking about adding this back to my bag (should never have sold it) but I never used filters with it. In looking back at my images, there are a handful that were captured in bright sunlight and I would rather avoid that issue this time around.

Any input is appreciated other than the usual filter/no filter debate. :p

are you using extension tubes? How are you able to get so close without making these critters shy away? I have been finding the 105 to be short for fast moving critters

yes, i believe there were 3 on that shot.
every now and then you get a critter that doesn't fly away. it doesn't happen often. spring mornings are the best cos it still quite cool in the mornings and they can have dew on their wings. once the sun has broken for a while and they heat up you dont have much chance.

Excellent detail! I am happy to be able to view it on my monitor rather than in my face!
