Just returned from a cruise. I could not pass up the deal on a Nikon 12-24DX from Boolchands in St. Marteen. It is the US version, all paper work for 5 year warranty and Nikon on-line registration accepted it today. They are a Nikon dealer

$850 with a UV filter. Opinions please!

Other opinions I wanted was on the warranty. The lens barrel SN has US xxxxxx, all the US warranty cards were in the box. As I said, I registered on line and it was accepted and I am sending in the 5 year card.

I will post a few shots as soon as I go thru them. It was great to be able to get the entire ship up close and in the entire frame. This was purchased to go to Europe next year. I told the boss that I needed it to get shots of the buildings in Rome, Greece etc.

After the shots of the ship, she asked what else I needed. I love it

This was my first shot with the 12-24

  8. Carman,

I am sure you will love the 12-24. I purchased one for my recent vacation at Niagara Falls. Your first image is terrific. It makes me want to see more of your cruise ship. I also like the perspective. Looks like you had a great time. Congrats again on your purchase.

Great price for a fantastic lens! Enjoy it! I use mine frequently and really like the perspective it produces.

Great lens! I did a multi-image panorama with it of an old train station and stiched them together with Panorama Maker 3. The resulting single image would have been nearly impossible to make without the extra wide 12-24 due to location restrictions.
