   I can almost assure you that your affection for this lens will only grow with time. I have had mind for a few years now and it is my main bird shooting lens, I too love it. It's sharp, fast and has beautiful boken.

   Thanks Louie, Bird photography is what I do. Even with the 1.4 tc it is tack sharp. I'm not sure about the 1.7 tc???

   I don't use a 1.7 on my 500. The images are too soft. That was a disappointment, but I do love the lens with a 1.4.
