Showcase Nikon 70-300mm VR

  1. The 70-300VR is a consumer grade lens that, when used correctly, offers results that are quite sellable. A slow 70-200VR 5.6 with the 200-300 range for emergency use.
Let's see your best efforts with this in mind. Post your focal length and f/stop with the pics.
    Here's mine.

I've never had problems with the lens @ 300/5.6.

    Then again, I'm not a pixel-peeper.

    Hi Ed,
I was being humorous... Your pics are great!
Notice my pelican pic was at 300mm.

    Just lovely Dave!

  5. I don't use this lens often, but when I do, I find the results stellar.

    Pushing it's limits: 270mm @ f/40

    Very fine!
f/40!? Is that with VR or a tripod?
    Fred

  7. Tripod.

And I spent a goodly amount of time cleaning all the dust bunnies off the image.

    And then my sensor!

  8. I believe it!
On the other end of the spectrum 70mm@f/4.5, no tripods allowed, so 1/40s with VR...

  16. LOL nah, 70-300 VR 1st w/ D200 ISO 200... 2nd w/D300 ISO 200
I did a series shooting BIF with a D50 and this lens. It's pretty amazing.
Sold it not because of IQ but speed and build left me less than thrilled.

  17. Not sure my best but came to mind and easy to find. cranked out @f7.1
