Thanks, Doug. It is a wicked sharp lens. Perhaps my favorite lens.
Sometimes it is not about the sharpness but the rendering...

This makes my eyes all watery.. because I used to own the D-version but sold it prematurely :-(

I'll be getting the G-version soon, that's for sure! Love that focal-length on DX. Wicked fine photos displayed in this thread! :)

Sorry guys I packed the 85mm 1.8D and I had the Sig 35mm fi.4 on my Camera and I was having so much fun that I forgot to take it off.
Sorry I will post a few shots shortly.
Cheers.

Hi Desmond. This is truly a wonderful shot and a super way to show just how good the lens riley is. Please tell me is this the D or the E lens you have. I have the D and find that I like it better on a full frame sensor!
Regards.

Needs to be straightend up a bit but from a wedding I shot Saturday with the D90 and 12-24 on one body and this 85mm 1.8 on the other.

A most excellent, creative shot Desmond--so perfect for a wedding! I love my 85d--would not trade it eve-up for the G. jt

A friends daughter ... she asked me to take a few shots for a thank you card for her communion

Have been contemplating a fast prime for portraits to add to the 50mm 1.8D that I already have - shooting with a DX body D90
Like the shots above and think these may help in making up my mind in getting this over a 105 2.8 lens. Thanks

Lovely image, Mike! A nice tool in the hands of a fine photographer!
Hi Karen. Thank you for such a lovely complement. The 85mm D f1.8 lens works beautiful on my D3 I never really liked it on any of my DX cameras. Ie the D70 D70s D80 D200 Or even the D300. I must give them another chance with this lens.
Kindest regards.
Mike
