Leigh has worked hard getting this event put together, and I expect that we will have a great time. All we need is for you to attend. In addition to the activities already planned (see the sticky post in this forum), Leigh has proposed some more fun events to fill out the week-end, and make it doubly worth your time. They include: 1. A shoot (for those interested in getting up at the crack of dawn) at the UAH duck pond on Saturday morning before things get started at the Botanical Garden. 2. An early morning trip to Guntersville on Sunday morning before the hike on Green Mountain (since it doesn't start until 1pm). There are tons of Great Blue Herons there (Patrick and Greg saw over 30 a couple of Saturdays ago), and if we are lucky, we might see an Eagle or two. 3. Harmony Park Animal Reserve would be another thing folks might be interested in doing to burn up some CF space after the hike on Green Mountain. There are a bunch of really cool animals there, in a free range set-up. They will walk right up to you, and you can feed them right out of your hands. They have some excellent photo op's here. 4. If enough folks show up, we will have a raffle to include items such as Nikoncafe hats, t-shirts, thongs ;-) , and maybe some coffee mugs. This is going to be a really fun event. I hope all of you within a few hours' drive (and everyone else for that matter) can find some time to include this in your summer plans. Hope to see you there!!
