Nikon D3 Nikon - intervolameter

    Has anyone used the intervolameter feature to do a timed star streak? I used to do this quite a bit with my F100 with a MC-30, but have yet to try with a D3.

    I would like to set it up to take 2-3 hour long exposures and longer (8 hours) if possible. What settings would you recommend with the internal intervolameter of the D3?

  2. I've done it with the D300 and D200. I set it on the base ISO, take 20s exposures every 30 seconds. a 3 hour exposure would give you 360 images, where you can combine in a program like Star Trails and get this:
