Nikon D6 or D5?

I'm looking to downsize my camera gear and my first inclination is to get on board with the soon to be Nikon D6. Alternatively I've been tempted to take advantage of a potential drop in price for a D5. I'm leaning towards the newer camera - primarily because it is new technology and hopefully takes advantage of and includes some aspects from the mirrorless side eg in camera stabilization, newer sensor etc. I'm eager to hear your thoughts.

I would wait for the D6 release. At that point you'll know all you need to know to make an informed decision.

Study the differences between the D5 and D6 - and see if they matter to you. There is a thread on this already with a lot of conversations....

I can't wait for the D6 to be introduced. That way I can buy another D5 at a great price

I'm not sure how down sizing leads you to a D5 ?
unless you're gonna sell your d850 and d500

it's gonna take something to get many D5 owners to upgrade
BUT I said that about the D4 -> D5 and I was way wrong

Sold my D850 and will sell the D500 when the D6 comes out.
