It seems there a few people here using this adapter.

I'm looking to add a Nikon full frame mirrorless camera to my existing (DSLR APS-C) kit but would want to use my current F mount lens(es). Whilst my kit is APS-C I have two full frame lenses, I've checked and they work with the Z system using the FTZ.

I've checked the FTZ mount online manual and it specifically says to attach the mount to the camera body and then attach the lens to the mount.

Is it possible to simply attach the lens and the FTZ mount together and then attach (and remove) this to (and from) the camera body? In essence I'd look to attach the FTZ to one lens and pretty much leave them that way. Would this work?

I leave my FTZ attached to one lens all the time with no issues whatsoever. I usually try to turn off the body before swapping to the FTZ but sometimes get in a hurry and swap while powered on, also with no ill effect. Perhaps there are a few lenses where the attachment order matters?

Any F-mount lens that I have experienced compatibility problems with did so no matter what order they were attached to the camera.

I do it both ways. If I am using a Z mount lens and change to an F, then the FTZ is usually already on the lens. If I then want a different F mount, I remove only the lens and leave the FTZ on the body and change the lens. I don't think it matters, frankly.
