Nikon IPTC Preset Manager ... Anyone know what this is?

    It lets you set default values for all those IPTC metadata fields stored with your photos.

    The IPTC data is very extensive unlike the EXIF data which just sets the user name and copyright notice, which in provided in all the cameras.

    I don't know about the different cameras. Perhaps the other cameras don't have the capability for IPTC data so users rely on adding it during post processing (e.g. Photoshop)? I'm surprised that any cameras have it, I suppose it means you can take a photo and send it off with no post processing, but it already has all its IPTC metadata with it.

    It is quite a specialist requirement. It would be useful only for pros who want to submit photos for publication by news media quickly without doing any post processing on them. So it wouldn't be landscapes or travel or weddings. I think it would only be sports, news, and photojournalism where speed of publication is everything. Perhaps the supported cameras are the ones used for that?
