Took out the 800mm F5.6 in anticipation of the "Super Moon", only to find it hidden by a huge layer of clouds........ So instead of looking East - I looked West. Found a couple of furry buddies getting ready for the evening nap - keeping a close eye on what I was up to......

I've certainly been a very inconstant participant of this thread I started when I was young but it is nice to see it continues to roll along without either me or Gregory to nudge it forward. Of course, the departure of NikkorAIS from the scene is much more shocking than my infidelity...

Beautiful 180 Hamilton. That is one of my desert island lenses and I sold the EX copy I bought when first building my MF kit once I came upon a like new copy in its original box. I figure that if I'm going to keep a lens for so long as I live, I might as well invest in as clean a copy as I can find...

Another of my desert island lenses is the 135 f/2 AI-s that I recently used with the PK-13 extension tube attached. Using tubes on these wonderful primes adds another exciting dimension to one's photography. Here is a shot with that combination followed by a shot taken with the 180 with the same extension tube attached.

And a shot from my latest acquisition, a 16 f/3.5 AI'd I bought from a friend who found himself with two in his possession. This is not an easy lens to come by...

And finally, a shot taken in a friend's shop with the 55 f/2.8 AI-s attached. This is a great lens that can be bought in excellent condition for a very reasonable price.

I haven't used this lens for a while but took it out this morning to get these shots for the current Collective Shoot. Tbh I'd forgotten how good it is.

Nikon V1 with FT1 and Nikon 105 AIS Macro makes a nice light combo

Wow, Curtis, just noticed your signature listing all the Ai lenses. Amazing.

Can I ask questions on two lenses? Which 35 prime do you like best? And do you like/not like the Ai-s 400mm f/5.6 ED?

Thanks for your time.
