Your hikes take you to high places.
I really like this view with the rock pile and the surrounding just enough out of focus to give a beautiful backdrop.

You know, there is something satisfying in higher elevations: of course there are the views, but there is something else too, a "je ne sais quoi" sensation--which induces wonder, marvel & spirituality. Thank you Bart--I like the pic for these reasons too. jt

Wish we could get this thread (and others) alive again--seems like the recent modifications to the forum have negatively impacted participation. This sport becomes increasingly fun with increased participation. May have to look elsewhere for MF padres. :( jt

Indeed, the more the merrier.
Let's hope activity picks up again.
Beautiful sample of the detail and the quality of the out of focus areas, Jt!

Took the NIKKOR 24mm f/2.8 AI-s on the dog walk this morning. No beautiful landscapes though, we walked down by the county yard where they dump off all the junk, so just some shots to play with light, shadow and form.

Really nice images, Michael!
I especially like the first one with the starburst and the flare.

Thanks Bart, the little emerald point on the flare was kind of cool. I had seen that Galen Rowell preferred this lens to the f/2 because it didn't have as much flare, but it obviously has a fair bit, but interesting.
