There are several short gold pins that connect the MB-D10 to a D300/300s on the underside of the body. I noticed one of these was about 3/4 the length of all the others - is that normal? I no longer have the use of the Command Dials nor the multi selector, but the vertical shutter release and the AF-On are fine. I bought this second-hand but it works just fine on one of my D300 bodies - too bad the shutter died on it. I just need to determine if I am going crazy or not....Thanks.

OK, I was able to stumble upon some Web images of the MB-D10 that clearly shows me one of these pins is a bit shorter than the rest. I need to check the D300 and D300s manuals as there has to be a setting I am overlooking - I cannot explain why the accessory works perfectly on the dead D300 shutter body but not on the active ones....
