Nikon MC-DC2: recommend an alternative

Can anyone recommend an alternative to the own brand DC-MC2 cable release.

I've tried a cheaper brand for about £7 and it broke off in the socket.

Hahnel do one but it's practically the same price as Nikon's own - £25.

I'd use the ML-L3 wireless remote control. It's cheap, small and works with many other Nikon bodies. I bought one years ago for my D70 and still have and use it with my Nikon V1.

If you think the £8.95 is too much, try any of the third party remotes on the same page.
