Nikon Sb-800 How do you use it at Weddings?

Discussion in 'General flash photography, lighting, and technique' started by Bryan Pritchard, Jul 3, 2008.

  1. Are you shooting in Manual? Adjusting the flash down for Fill outside?
Shooting it and the Camera on Manual?

    Imput please

    Thanks

  2. My metering and shooting selections depend on the ambient light, Bryan... both the level of ambient light, and the consistency between various portions of the venue.

At the ceremony, I'm forced to use the ambient as the main light. If flash is permissable, I'll use it for fill.

For the formals and the reception, I'll use my speedlight as the main, and the ambient for fill. Here's a sample, followed by the shooting data.
