A long time ago, I made a change to my secondary puter, and now N Transfer no longer auto launches when I insert a CF card into my reader. NkvMon.exe is checked in my Sys Config Utility. Tried and checked everything I can think of, but can't get it working again. Can anyone help me solve this mystery? would really like to get this fixed.

No, the drive letter hasn't changed. In properties of that drive, I tried selecting the action of "Open with Nikon View" for pictures, but that didn't work either. Also tried Restore Defaults, and that didn't work either.

  5. In Nikon View preferences (in the edit menu) has auto launch been disabled?

Yes, I've got it checked, Rory. I even unchecked it, then rechecked it to be sure, but still no Transfer launch.

    Dear Steve,

Leave it checked and try rebooting. It may help.

Well, I've left it checked and rebooted my puter evry morning for the past several months, and it still doesn't autolaunch Tranfer.

Its a bug in Windows, i had it happen, there is a Auto Play repair utility on the MS Knowledge database, but i cant find the link anymore. But that will fix the problem.

No probs, it makes a change for me to help someone, on this board its usually the other way round!

Glad it worked, Nikon Transfer can be a pain sometimes. But if you need to IPTC caption NEF files you dont have a great deal of choice.

    Cheers
