I know you have the 14-24 f2.8G and love your photos from it!

I did have the 14-24 f2.8G lens but sold it after I got the Tamron 15-30 f2.8 VC as it was slightly better for my purposes. The new 14-24 f2.8S is a tad sharper across the frame, doesn't suffer from flare issues, virtually no CA! and is much lighter. I was never a huge fan of the 14-24 f2.8G due to flare, but it is a great lens in the right environment. I am a big fan of this new 14-24 f2.8S, it is defeinitely worthy of being part of the new "Holy Trinity" along with the 24-70 f2.8S and 70-200 f2.8S which are both superb lenses. Lovely images Lance. I enjoyed viewing your 15-30 output over on FM but don’t visit there much anymore. Will have to stick with my F mount for the foreseeable future this is a tad out of my league in both monetary and ability terms.

I've been lusting after one for a while. The 16-35 f/4 was a favorite travel lens on my D850. Now with my Z twins, I need to go wider than 24.

I really don't think you will be disappointed in any way with the 14-24 f2.8S. I also had the 16-35 f4 VR as my travel lens, which I actually thought was a very decent lens back on the D700 and good in certain areas on the D800/D810/D850 but the 14-24 is quite a step up. Even the diminutive 14-30 is a little gem and quite a step up from the 16-35 f4 VR and what I would call a replacement of the 16-35 for the Z mount but with better resolution across the board. You can't go wrong with either the 14-30 or the 14-24 S mount lenses, they are both fantastic.

The circular polarizer screw in is available from NiSi as well as from Nikon, but if you need ND's you also have to buy those as well. I purchased the NiSi square filter system for the 14-24 f2.8S but I already had the V6 square filter holder system for use on my other lenses, and a number of 100mm square filters that came with the V6 kit so I only needed to get a 100mm square filter for the 14-24 f2.8S holder. The 14-24 f2.8S square filter holder works very well and there is no vignetting. If you go the screw in versions as you would need at least the polarizer and a couple of ND's. With NiSi, there is a 6 stop and a 10 stop ND and I think they are about US$200 each so the 3 filters would cost around US$600. The NiSi square filter holder is about US$90 and a 6 stop and 10 stop square kit is $299, but for some reason B&H doesn't list the 100mm square NiSi polarizer. I got mine is Australia from NiSi and converted to US$ would be about US$180. The genuine Nikon screw in polarizer 112mm filter is US$680!!
