Ok I'll start. Would love to see more images with this lens.
Haven't had the opportunity for much as yet but hope to get out to test it out.
Here's one from me posted in another thread of a quick snap of my dog Trooper ( sorry but I don't have any cats..)

As well as the lens seems to be received, I'm not sure how early it will be adopted by the masses, especially for the price. If I already have a 50 in f-mount, I think most will just stick with that asan adapted lens. I know the 50/1.8G I currently have is exceptional on the Z6 and can be found used for a fraction of the Z50.

I look forward to seeing what the new 50mm can do, though and may even buy one in the future used at a respectable price.

The image you've shared is very nice and does show great sharpness and acuity, thanks for sharing this initial image and starting this showcase.

I never was fond of the focal length, but now that I have this lens, I'm going to have to learn 50mm. I love the way this lens renders. These were moved from the 58/0.95 thread.

I had the camera set for a smaller aperture, but then decided to shoot wide open and forgot to adjust ISO.

We found some peace and solitude in the countryside and the 8 people we passed during the 2.5 hours were kept at an unsociable 2m distance at all times! Just hoping our walking routes don’t suddenly become popular. Oh, and we found a lizard!

I have this lens as well as the Z 35mm and I prefer the FOV of the 35 over the 50! They are both very fine lenses, personally I find the IQ to be too close to separate!
I am blown away by the quality of the Nikon Z lenses also the same applies to the Z6, it’s a pity this system wasn’t launched five years ago, it would have saved me a fortune.:p

this lens sure looks great but I always hated 50mm, I still have a 50/1.8G that I never use, it was $170 new after rebates...
I wonder if we shot these 2 lenses side by side if we could tell the diff in pics

It's always a fair question particularly when there is a significant difference in cost. I am more comfortable (that is I tend to 'frame' shots) around 40mm - 35 always seemed to wide and 50 seemed just not quite tight enough- some of my favorite lenses were the Panny 20mm on M43 and Nikon 40mm on DX - so I get that 50mm isn't a FL you gravitate towards.

For an A/B comparison, I think the answer is 'it depends.' I always thought the central sharpness of the 50g was pretty good stopped down even to f2 or f2.8. The 'oh my' moment for me came when I realized I was looking at an unsharpened RAW file from the 50S and it looked as clear as a sharpened 50g all the way out to the edges. I think the files have more micro-contrast which makes them look sharper and gives them a certain 'presence'. I think many of the examples in this thread show that - even at the reduced resolutions we post at.
