One more from the trip up to the upper peninsula of Michigan. Here the sunset catches the Mackinac bridge as a storm moves in to start fall. View attachment 1647214
Thank you! I had wanted to center it more but there was a shrub that would have interfered with the composition and I didn’t want to have to try to photoshop it out lol.
Fantastic image, Chris! I like everything about this composition and your post processing treatment: the contrasting colors, the circular star trails, the foreground interest. Print it!

Thank you so much. I had been trying for years to capture the Aurora and always missed it. I was elated to have the opportunity this time and happy with how they turned out. It’s ended up being one of my more popular prints sold and I have a 20x30 acrylic being made for myself at home.
This couple was in a local park with their daughters. The husband was attempting to get pictures with the few remaining fall colors that were not taken down by the torrential storm we had last Thursday on Halloween. I walked past them a bit and the wife came after me asking if I could help them. A few minutes of talking and I learned the husband and wife were celebrating their 20th anniversary and trying to get family pictures. I tried using the husband’s camera but he didn’t have a polarizer filter and it was evident the pictures would not be ideal. I had my Z7 w/ 24-70/4S with a polarizer filter so I offered to take their pictures with my camera and send them digital copies.

I sent them their digital copies later in the afternoon and they were so grateful. I was happy that I could help them. Maybe one day they will remember this and call to hire me for a paid session. Even if that doesn’t happen, I’m just happy I was able to help them capture this memory for their family.
