Nikon Z50 mirrorless APS-C camera and two lenses

I am curious where Nikon is going to go with this. Not something I think I would dump my Fuji for ( I LOVE the color science and film simulations).

But... The extra reach of the APS-C sensor and if it works with the FTZ....hmmmm.

Presumably you can use any Z-mount lens on this camera, as well as F-mount through the FTZ adapter. The camera is not crippled by the "kit" lenses.
What if you put a Z-mount DX lens onto a Z6, it will obviously fit and apart from a possible loss of image quality what do you get, presumably a cropped image?

But unlike at least some of the DSLRs it is impossible to disable the switch to DX mode. This seems like something that could be altered in firmware.
You can't disable the auto switch? Can you override it? Select an FX image size with a DX lens on? (No I'm not really sure why you would other than to induce vignetting.)
