Personally for normal stuff I prefer the US postal service, they're faster and
cheaper...For over weight, over size or odd shape UPS/FedEx are cheaper...

They are all as bad as each other. I bought a new Dell monitor last week which was delivered by the same private firm used by Amazon for large high value items. It had the biggest dent in the side and I just refused it on the spot. The replacement was faultess and immaculate but I know they would have just tried to deliver the one I refused to someone else until it was eventually accepted.

It's like the baggage handlers that I've seen that throw the bags onto the conveyor belt coming off the plane. All they'd have to do is set it on the edge and let the belt do the work, but they heave it out of the hold and the bags careen and bounce down, some of them going off and landing on the tarmac.

I HATE THAT...!!!

I've watched my packages sit in Troutdale, Oregon FedEx depot for as much as THREE DAYS
and then at about 2 AM the morning of the 5th day depart for the Dupont, WA depot that serves
my area and be out by 6:30 AM for delivery... UPS does the same thing with Portland, Oregon
and Elma, WA depot...!

Of course if I pay for 3-Day delivery they only spend 2-4 hours in Troutdale/Portland before
moving on to Dupont/Elma for delivery on the third day...

USPS always get's it there as fast as is reasonably possible regardless of what
shipping rate you paid for... In state or one state away, 1-day... 2-4 states away
2-days... Southern tip of Florida (farthest from me) 3-4 days tops with a Sunday
or holiday in the mix... AND IT"S CHEAPER TOO...!!!

GO USPS...!!!

I wonder...
I swear that's happened to me twice this year. I had packages sit in one spot for three days, both times. Hopefully it's just an annoying coincidence as I used to get packages a day or two early more often than not.

Where there any holidays in the mix...?

Government agencies observe many more holidays then most other businesses,
many of which the average person may not even be aware of... I usually chack
an online calender with all the holidays when USPS seems to be behind schedule,
more times than not there was some odd holiday mixed in there... :tongue:

Or are you talking about UPS/FedEx...? If that's the case then they were probably
holding them back because you paid for 5-7 days (ground) and they resist delivering
it any sooner than you paid for... Unless of course it was shipped in-state and they
have no plausible excuse for taking 5 days... :wink:

Actually, it's totally because I mis-read the reply I commented in response to :tongue: I thought it said "UPS".

It is true, though, that I used to get UPS packages early (probably because I'm pretty close to a regional hub). Now it never happens.
