  1. --Hi all,

It took some 'hours of work, but i made a NOISE compairison between the above mentioned camera's.
This doesnt tell anything about the handling, quality etc etc. of the camera's
Again, i don't want to bash any camera. Actually i own four of them.
I kno'w, the wb and lighting isn't perfect( i should have used a grey card).
And if you have the feeling to do it better, please do so.

I JUST want to share the results. Nothing more nothing less.

I must say i was really impressed what the d50 can do. It's FAR best in high iso.
I was not able to enclose the d2h anymore because i sold it last week.
But i can tell you it was the worst of them.

I didnt post the pictures because they are to big but they can be found over here :

    200 iso shot

    400 iso shot

    800 iso shot

    1600 iso shot
  2. Thanks Alex, that's very useful. I can't say more as to how much I'm impressed with the D50 at high ISO's, and in general. I'll shortly be posting a big project with D2X and D50 shots. I'm so pleased with the D50 I'll be using it on assignment for NGT at the end of October for indoor low light stuff.

Thanks for all the hard work.

  3. That's a lot of hard work there, Alex. The no noise at 1600ISO was one of the decision makers in choosing my S3Pro.
  4. Hey that's pretty impressive with the D50. I think I might have to pick one up myself for the price!
  5. Holy cow............... what am I missing here? At 1600 the D50 is the clear winner.

How does the S3 on wide dynamic range compare? I would hope that it's better than the D50. ??? What's the downside to the D50? There's gotta be a "catch".

    THANKS for posting

alex, this is very interesting, I am surprised at how good the D50 1600 ISO is compared to the rest. Has anyone one compaired the D70/70s and D100 to the D50, they all have very similar CCD's?
