At first, I thought I was lucky catching these two poses simultaneously as these butterflies feasted on matter deposited by my cats in the flower bed. My first impression was Northern pearly eye (Enodia anthedon), but study of the photo suggests otherwise – the antennae clubs are white, and the markings are not quite right. I rejected all other satyrs and wood nymphs that are found in this area. Anyone have a suggestion?
