its not nikon, but i've been a member here for ages it feels like, even if i'm not that active.

so...intrigued by the rangefinder concept, i bought an old FED 5b. this is just sort of a test roll, but i got a few interesting shots. the camera is 100% mechanical and has no meter...so that's exciting. lol. i shot these with a roll of kodak bw400cn i had handy, even though its not the greatest film.

without further ado...a few from the roll:

    the photographer

dad with some exposure blending, and dodging and burning

    mom and dad...out of focus

    the real camera :p  <333

film really has a special sort of look to it. something about the way focus falls off...something about the depth of field...the tonality...the grain.

also...it can be difficult to focus a rangefinder as a n00b. it seems to be getting easier. we'll see. the next roll is in progress (TMax 400...if there's a sharper, finer grain 400 speed b/w film, its not by much)

comments, critiques, hellos, how are yas...whatever...all welcome.

  2. I really like the first Mom picture. Thanks for sharing these, film is so much fun!
