NX:Win - Installation & Performance - Some guidance

Microsoft creates and releases updates to its operating systems and utilities (such as .net Framework), various hardware manufacturers are expected to keep their drivers up to date and Nikon/NIK writes software to conform with the latest published Microsoft standards. We can't affect any of the above three programming sources. What we CAN do is gather the latest information and document successful Capture installations/implementations for both Windows and Mac systems, publish this information and assist members with their particular situations.

We can't/won't debate who is to blame, whose software is bad, or how & whether Capture SHOULD interface with various other packages. It is what it is. We're looking for ways to get things to work, not trash Microsoft, Apple or Nikon/NIK. The most effective way for members who feel they have found defects or want to suggest changes and/or improvements is to contact Nikon directly. If you're here to remind us that you like something else, this is not the place for that; it is for specific questions or observations about NX. Expressions of preference are more appropriate in the forums where folks inquire about others' preferences for editing software.

Meanwhile feel free to post your problems or contact us directly with as much detail as possible and explain what assistance you need. We will do our hardest to help everyone. For Widows/Capture NX starters, please check the first interim tutorial in the above sticky section.
