Yes, I've had MSE pop up messages saying it has intercepted a risk many times. Some were fairly minor, like a trojan download that would have just sat there doing nothing. Some were warnings about Java - I had the official Java installed and it was found to contain security risks, and MSE warned me. It has also warned me about downloaded files that contain bad things. This includes times when I simply visited a website.

It provides a first line of defence. The second is that now and again I run full scans of every file on every disk overnight, using both MSE and Malwarebytes. It is good to see in the morning that all is OK.

It works, install it. Once installed you can forget about it.

Me too - lots of interceptions. MSE's definition updates arrive virtually every day. Like Richard I also use Malwarebytes, plus Malware Fighter (IObit) - I usually run MSE scans first then the other two.
