Dear friends on the Cafe!

The greatest prime lens challenge of the Nikon Cafe year is near. This thread will serve as an invitation, a registration point and a forum to discuss the rules of play or ask questions. The challenge will be a meeting of friendly photographers to build a worldwide, creativ event.

I'd be more than pleased if you could register your interest in this thread (and if you can, already let me know about which lens(es) and camera(s) you'll be using for Octoberfest).

The rules (discussion about rules ends Sept. 27):
1. Challenge shooting to be done with prime lens(es) (fixed focal length). This is all about gear.
2. Maximum of 31 images for the month in each participant's thread. (if requested, there'll be a bucket)
3. Each player is to start their own thread in order to share their work, title: Octoberfest 2014 - (nick) - (Lens(es)) - (day of last update). Please make sure your thread is opened until Sept. 30 and modify your thread title every time you add a picture (that is every day).
4. Hardcore - 1 lens only for the month. No more else to say.
5. Player - max. 3 primes for the month.
6. Challenge starts on Sept. 30 at midnight and ends after 31 days on frisky Friday Oct. 31 (your local time).
7. posting is on a daily basis - you'll create 31 pictures during October ;-)
8. comments from all participants on our pictures are highly appreciated

:D Gordon, that was only to motivate you to stay aboard during the whole month. Of course it's all optional here. But I'd like to see your work.

Thanks Aaron. :)

I guess I'm in. Not sure how much I'll be able to get out to try and do some photography - could possibly be up to 31 days of "this is the mundane stuff I did today"...

Fuji X-T1 with Voigtlander 35/1.4 Nokton Classic SC.

I would join, however, I leave for my holiday on October 26th, and won't be able to shoot for two days as I will be flying to my next far flung destination. Have fun, though!!

Octoberfest can't be done without you, Lyndee. :D Welcome! Which lens/cam are you using?

I'll join as a player. Lenses ... will go with Samyang 24mm f/1.4 (used it for Octoberfest 2012 on a DX body; haven't played with it much on FX yet) and Nikon 180mm f/2.8 AF-D (newest toy). Body will be D800E.

Welcome Brian! I planned to buy the Samyang 24 some weeks ago, but i didn't. So, it will be very intersting to see how it performs on FX. Have fun!

Lyndee, sounds like an opportunity for some street or in-the-cab shots, hmmm? :D Seriously - I'd miss your participation.

I've not tried a longer challenge - I'd like to play hard core.
Either the Only E-M5 or Lumix GX7 + Voigt 42.5mm
Pretty sure there won't be 31 great shots from me, but I'll try.

Welcome aboard, Mike! It's good to have you in.

You are too kind. Well, if you don't mind the fact that I'll be missing on the 27th, I'll go hardcore with the D7100 and my trusty, tried, and true 50 1/8. :)

Welcome Lyndee! So nice of you to join! It's ok if you pass the 27th, the absense of a Mod gives some opportunities :D :ROFLMAO:

Won't be joining this year as I will be away during one or two weeks in October. But good luck to everyone participating and have fun!
