So after a lot of inactivity (from me) I got out today and shot some offshore speedboats in Sarasota FL. Spent some time experimenting with panning speeds and techniques. As they go around lots of time, I decided I need to try and take a couple of other images that reflect the race but are a little different.

    Anyway here goes.

PS I know I have terrible dust bunnies, but have not figured out how to use the dust-off ref photo and capture to remove them, AND I lost some corners with cropping and straightening but will correct those later.

Good captures. I shot the Thunder on the Gulf last year in Orange Beach, AL and those guys are nuts. As for the dust bunnies, I have had excellent results using Dust-Aid (no affiliation).

    Great shots
    Great creativity as well

Those boats are top shelf. Haven't seen them in a long time.
    Man the sound....

Very interesting! Love the focus point and shallow DOF for the last 2.

If I would have known you were behind me taking pictures I would have straightened my bikini bottoms! ha ha
  6. Good pictures.

What I do to remove those spots is lock the mirror and give it a good set of blows with a Giotto Rocket Blower. Works every time.

Thanks for the comments. Yes I guess it is time to blow the sensor.

  8. Very cool these boats are amazingly fast and your captures portray that

Thanks for the comment. This was the 1st ever race for the 50ft $1million Budweiser boat, which is supposed to be the craft of the future. It sure looks it.
