Oktoberfest '08-Chewbecca-50mm f1.8 85mm f1.8

Discussion in 'Photo Meme' started by chewbecca, Oct 3, 2008.

  1. So! I'm the late one.
Well, I will shoot with the 50mm f1.8 only for this week, as I'm expecting the 85mm f1.8 next week sometime.

This is my first time ever being a part of this, so please be gentle on me!
    I'll post one later today.
  2. Ok, I am hesitant to post now because I might take more pictures today, but I will just either add them or save them for later.

I took this on my way to class. Thought it was a good opener for this.
Also, it made me chuckle. I mean...in a sad way, of course.

    shot @ f2.5, 1/640, ISO 250

This is my nature-y picture of the day. Don't know what these are, but they are growing in the tree in my backyard.
shot @ f6.3, 1/320, ISO 400 (I could have probably had my settings different, I was on the phone when I took this):

Is the subject "Dealing with lens lust incited by other NikonCafe members"?

It is an infliction that is sweeping the nation...

love them..the first one made me laugh as well..is it a psych class or a therapy group ?

I love the colors on the second one with the sky behind them
  6. Aw, Waltny, what lens is it you are lusting over? I have about 5 right now that I could EASILY buy if I had the money.

    HA! Thanks.

    Thank you, Lisa!
  7. Good start. The tree looks like a belonging to hawthorns (look at the last picture on the page). But I'm usually bad with these...

  8. Thank you! I had never known what it was.
  9. A very fitting first one!

The fruit on the tree looks delicious.
  10. Thanks, Frank!

I think it's a support group, or perhaps an educational seminar.
    But it's not a psych class.
  11. I am not quite sure what the berry tree is. My hawthorns don't have berries this time of year - I think. But you composition is lovely with a nice sky behind.
  12. Sign me up!
  13. I would love to attend that class, but I have to get through all of these posts in the Oktoberfest 2008 thread, aarrrggghh!

    Nice capture.

  14. First one brought a chuckle. Second is very nice.

As to shooting while talking on the phone....well we older folks don't multitask quite so well...there's got to be *some* advantage to that, doesn't there.:wink:
  15. Two nice shots to get started- love the sign! Welcome aboard and please keep them coming- great to have you here for our challenge Rebecca

  16. Thank you, Birgit!

    hahahaha, I understand, me too!
    And thank you.

    Aw, thanks, Harry!

Thank you, David! This challenge is making me get off my butt and make more time for photography.
  17. that 1st one is funny
  18. Just a picture of my son today.
He was messing with me and trying to avoid having his picture snapped.
But I caught him just as he poked his head out the opening of the slide.
This was taken at McDonald's Playland.

  19. I would never have guessed that was a McD's slide if you hadn't told me. Nice composition.
