Sorry for signing on late but I am on the road until 19 October.

I don't have any PP tools until then but will try to put stuff up when possible.

These are direct out of the camera and I will hopefully have access to PS to convert RAW files in a couple of days when I get to Helsinki, Finland to try to catch up.

  4. I quite like the shopping map shot. I wish the composition would be a bit different, but the colors are nice, and I like the results even now quite much.

  5. oooh, I like the Sufi dancer!
That's really nice, especially considering you don't have any PP tools!

  6. Looking forward to your shots...both lenses are favorites of mine.

Thanks. I am not sure what comp you had in mind. I would have liked to be able to crop the Whirling Dancer shot but not so much this one.
Thanks. I would have liked to have cropped it a bit.
I'll be shooting with the 50mm until I get back home. I might still drop the 85 and just stick with the 50.

Two great captures! Looking forward to your other pictures.

  9. The coffee shot has great potential. My preference would be to have the froth in the cup in focus, and the Istanbul out of focus.

  10. an interesting start....... hope that you can share some more with us Dayo

    Thanks
    Thanks for the critique.
I am taking at least one candidate shot a day although I have given up on trying to use PS in other languages. I had a shot at a swedish version and then at a Finnish version but concluded it is hopeless except if I ask someone to convert for me which is not the same so I will submit after I get back home.
    Thanks,

I am back home and after stupidly forgeting my flash card back in Finland and having to wait for it to be sent, I need to catch up.

I had wanted to post two for each day day but since I'll have to do 5 days worth / day till the month end, I'll only afflict you with one for each day.

Took a walk away from the beaten path and found this display with the gills popped. Later found it is quite common in Turkey.

The ever so cool Tim and his aunt. Should have gone to ISO 3600 to freeze the movement a touch better.

Pouring down with rain so decided on abstracts. Forgot to set camera back from ISO 3600 from last night's shooting in dim pub.

  14. Welcome back....stong shots all. I am really struck by the Heli portrait...the vivid blue eyes are a grabber...and I find the Sani and Tim shot charming. Your porch abstract works, all I can say. Thanks for posting these.

You are too kind. Thanks for commenting.

I think by pure fluke, I managed to get a certain angle that brought out those colours.

I like fish and seafood generally lol.

I am told that is what the words say. A little puppy drinking would have completed the shot but I couldn't dally.

I had spent some time framing stuff using the vertical metal strips of the hotel balcony to frame stuff and when I spotted these two young ladies chatting much later, I was able to fire off a quick one.

Since we have a similar thermometer at home in Bahrain, I thought it would make a nice comparison later.

Managed to get entry to a helicopter museum being put together at the Finnish Airforce Base at Utti. Not yet open to the public but someone knew someone who knew someone.

The shot is of the plate of the engine of a soviet chopper.

  19. Great series of shots. I can confirm what reads on the Café sign.

The chopper plate shot is my favorite.

I noticed you've been to Utti. We did a short training there when I did my military service (I'm a Finn). Thanks for posting shots from my home country.

  20. I like Nip and Tuck (although that is an expression about what plastic surgeons do LOL). I like peeking in at the seamstress.

The shot of the thermometer is great. What an interesting thermometer it is. As a dog lover, Cafe Lilla Hunden caught my attention. Yes, a puppy included would have really made the shot.

Fishes is great. I could not figure out what the red stuff is till I read your explanation.
