This is a placeholder for a discussion of a live-shoot Octoberfest, or at least a meetup of some of the participants of the Octoberfest group.

    Eh?

Chris, it's worth to think about it.

It's now 11 years ago I visited the US for the last time. It's time again...

Just a couple of ideas for people to chew on and maybe get some discussion started. There's tons of stuff to do here in the US, so if you have a locale in mind - don't be shy... :)

The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta will be held 3-11 Oct 2015. Lots of photo opportunities there, plus Old Town, The Sandias, the ABQ BioPark/ Botanic Garden, Petroglyph National Monument are in the local area. Side trips to locales like Santa Fe, Bosque Del Apache (might be a bit early for amazing bird population), Chaco Canyon, etc... Good SW eats and some micro-breweries. Lodging might be an issue unless booked well in advance, or maybe look at a group camp-out/ RV rental. Airport right in town.

Or how about a week in the Las Vegas, NV/ St George, UT/ Page, AZ area? Might be too late for the North Rim depending upon weather, but you have Lake Meade and Hoover Dam, Red Rocks, Valley of Fire, Snow Canyon, Zion, Kolob Canyon, Vermillion Cliffs, Horseshoe Bend, Lake Powell and Glen Canyon Dam, Monument Valley and a bunch of other sites in that general area. (Antelope and other slot canyons in the area could be visited as well. Due to the angle of the sun that time of year the sun shafts won't be in play, but there should be plenty of subtle colors and textures for B&W work.) Major airport at Las Vegas, and with the casinos people might be able to get some package deals for better pricing. People could go posh the first night or two, and the day/ night before departure, and do some camping in between while out to the more remote locales.

Both of those locales could be as busy or as relaxed as people want.

If anyone from outside the US might be interested in learning a bit more about any of these areas, I'll be more than happy to do a list of links so it'll be a one-stop for people to do some research for discussions.
