Old nikons for NX D

Pulled an old trick again. My D3 will not take modern high capacity CF cards, so I tried a high capacity card from D800 and it worked. I have now brought camera firmware up to date and purchased new cards and camera works fine.

It still will not be recognized by NX D. Owning two D3 cameras in new condition it seems important to me. My solution is to format the card in D800, move it to D3 and it starts a new folder with D3 prefix. Put it into computer and it works. NX D recognizes the image and makes adjustments so now I do not have to use both NX 2 and NX D.

Nikon says older cameras will not work in D. Wrong.

Wondering if I can make my Leicas do the same trick.

No. Will have to change to TiFF like before.

Just wondering where you have seen this and what is meant by "Older Cameras"?

NX-D handles my D70 files in both Camera Compatible and Latest Picture Control Modes with no issues.

Came off Nikon USA website. I found the issue first when tried processing some D40 , then D200, and D3 images. Some would not open, some were very sluggish, some opened but not process.
