Old wounds... new beginnings

  1. Spring is a wonderful time for photography. I rode my bike to the lake to take pictures of the wildlife. The Snowy Egret is among my favorites... a beautiful, athletic bird. Though I used 300mm lens from afar, this specimen was startled by the click of my camera, but soon resumed hunting for lunch.

and a pair of Canada Geese appeared to be on their honeymoon.

The flowers on this tribute caught my eye.

I researched the inscription, and learned that Nicole Carol Miller was a 21 year old student at West Valley College in San Jose who was a passenger on the ill fated United Airlines Flight 93 on 9/11/2001. God rest her soul.

A few minutes later, I saw nature's cycle beginning anew.

Beautiful, as always, Frank. Wonderful series, lovely images, and I always love the way you string the photos into a story line.

    Thank you.

  8. What a great set, do you think she is regretting so soon into the honeymoon?.

  9. Very impressive Frank, thanks for sharing.

  10. Humbling. Thank you.

  11. Great series, Frank. Almaden lake?

  12. Yes, it's only a mile down the walking trail from my house to the lake. It's a good spot for snowy egrets, and, unfortunately, Canada geese.

  13. Great series and the last one is off the cuteness scale. Thanks for sharing!

  14. Everyone who commented expressed my thoughts and more. So I will just agree with all of the above. Well done.
