Hey guys...
What's the difference between the old TC-14E vs. TC-14EII and why is there such a huge difference in price? I can get a used TC-14E for about $200 but the "II" version costs $500 new at B&H! What's the catch?

Also, how does the old TC-14E perform on a 70-200 VRII?

thanks

From what I've read both have the same optics just a different "body". I have the II, but I'd buy a E without even thinking about it.

As Jeff said, identical optics just a more modern looking body. I have the older one and would highly recommend. I'll only replace when they bring out a revised optics MKIII.

I also have the older one, bought it for $125 on here, body a little beat up but functions perfectly. Same exact thing as the II version, just marked for use with "AF-I" lenses instead of "AF-S" and the finish is a little different. Get the vI without hesitation.

Here's a quick shot with the vI on my 200 f/2 wide open at 280mm f/2.8
