OK, I know that this is an international forum, so this won't be of interest to some. Forgive that, but as an American, the good news is that we here in that States have seen our athletes win more than our share of medals. That's good. The bad news...Each medal ceremony we're treated to the dweebiest rendidtion of The Star Spangled Banner, the American National Anthem that I've ever heard. Just weak and anemic sounding. Anybody else agree?

Let me add though, that I'm enjoying the games thoroughly, More than I thought I would actually. Phelps! Nastia and Shaun! Beach volleyball! Great stuff.

With the same cautions mentioned by Jack, I have to agree. I have watched very, very little of the games on TV (BBC web gets me all I need early in the day) but I just heard the SSB played for some award and it sounded awful--and I'm the guy who makes almost anyone on American Idol sound great!!!

Curious what folks from other nations think about their anthems.
