I have not used my OM-D for about a month so when I went to use it I could not get it to work, now I had charged the battery and clean contacts on the lens plus tried other lens.
When I turn it on I can see a light in the view finder for a short time and it goes off, I have it set on A mode and on the screen it only shows a bar at the bottom and one on the side with bars at the bottom half of the side bar,
if I look thru the view finder or the back, nothing. I've tried everything,
please help me.

That doesn't sound good. Is it possible to put the battery in the wrong way?
Do you have a spare battery to try?
Have you tried connecting it to the computer in that state because maybe you can see whether that side of it is affected as well?

Thanks Desmond,
No the batteries will only go in one way, I guess I will take it to my
camera and see what is going on, I hope it is something stupid I'm
doing.

Unless it's related to it sitting around in a place where moisture can get in? Try leaving it somewhere where it could dry out.
I once spilled water on my macbook keyboard, I left it upside down in a room with a dehumidifier blowing on it and it's worked fine ever since.

Desmond,
Thanks for the advice, I took it to the camera shop and even the person at the
counter could not figure it out, He then took it to the back to the camera teck and He finally found out, He re-set the Factory settings and now it works, I don't know what happened but it works now.

Thanks,
Phil........

The camera was just suffering from neglect. Give it a little love and it will repay you with great renderings.
