On Smokestacks and Poles.....

I seem to have a fascination with older, soon to be (or already), displaced industrial design. Especially brick chimneys that have interesting patterns beyond bare industrial necessity or otherwise provide for interesting photo detail. And for another, telephone and electrical poles that are quickly becoming obsolete in more urban areas.

Here are shots relecting those (slightly phallic, I know) interests taken in the last few years.

#4 - Top of One Cottage Place Chmney This top was recently removed to just below the bottom brick "collar". It is now ugly as sin.

#7 - "Turning the Corner" Electrical Poles, Poconos, PA Note the guy wires releiving stress as the load wires turn a 90 degree corner.

good composition that
add interest to
both sides of the chimney.

Harry, nice interest you have. I like the set as a whole, but for me #1 and the last one are the best. That last one is really an abandoned 'thing' from the past and in the first photo I like the contrast between the modern telephone (?) transponders and the old chimney.
