A Male American Kestrel on top of his world.
Super to hear from you:biggrin:
This is my favorite bird and you capture them so well Gary. I just don't get very many chances to see them for some reason.
They are in more open country around here, the show up when it is hay cutting time. Looking for mice I think.
GAry you are right about the hay cutting time as they were cutting hay the other day next to me and I saw 2 of them sitting on the wire and one had a mouse and the other was wishing. Nice shot
They are plentiful and have a relatively short range. Most people don't take notice because they are quite small. These have a favorite Perch but you need to be concealed and Patience.
I am going to start looking for some places where I think I may have some luck. Like I said this is my favorite bird.
I can only wish you the best, Take your time and scout with binoculars and just watch. Many people overlook them because they are small. They are wire sitters.
Thank You Shep
Good to hear from you again.
