One shot hummer

Discussion in 'Birds' started by Uncle Frank, Aug 31, 2005.

  1. My hummingbirds have gotten camera shy. I'm only able to get one shot, and they're off like a rocket. I had a fruitless few hours yesterday, with only 4 captures, none of which were in focus. I decided to give it a try this morning, and again, only one chance per feeder visit. But I managed to get a keeper anyway .

That's a very nice capture, Frank. I saw my first of about four Hummingbirds in the wild yesterday at the Chicago Botanical Gardens with Papa85 and his friend, Jim. I spotted them...they spotted us...and they were gone like a cool breeze on a summer's day. But is was so cool!

Nice hummer Frank. What was your flash set-up for this one?

  6. You not only got a keeper Frank, you got an excellent keeper. Way to go my friend. Love the way the colors blend with the gorget (is that a word).

  7. Thanks, Frank. Just two strobes for this one... the sb800 on-camera, and a slave about 30% off to the side.

  8. Thanks, Gordon! Gorget is not only a word... it's the right word .
