Opanda Viewer - where is the shutter count?

I recently upgraded to a Win 7 laptop, i7 processor, 6 GB of RAM, all the goodies to make life easier for processing NEF's, I downloaded Opanda Viewer 2.3 - the same one on my old laptop - but I can't seem to see the shutter count. What gives? Has anyone downloaded this lately?

The THUMBNAIL info is near the bottom with only one entry after that.....No shutter count nor any of the preceding stuff. Weird.

Did you use any PP software on the image you're looking at...? Sometimes
PP software will strip all/some of the EXIF info... I always save the original
image intact so I always have an original baseline...

Also, if you are looking at an image posted on the web many hosts will strip
all/some of the EXIF info...

I don't use NX2 but it may have something to do with one of the settings... There may
be a check box, etc, that you need to check or uncheck to save the exif (metadata) when
you save the RAW image to JPEG/TiFF/etc...

Could be wrong but I dont think that Opanda can read the information required from a Raw file. Have you tried a shot as jpeg?

Opanda Iexif may work although again I think you need to supply a Jpeg

That's correct and good catch...

I have IEXif and it only works on JPEG files.... If you want to read EXIF in NEF (RAW)
files you need IEXifPro...

Yep, did mean shoot natively as JPEG. No idea why it would work before with older NX2

There are of course other tools and if it is just shutter count as a one off what about uploading your most recent file either jpeg or nef to http://www.myshuttercount.com/

I just tried Opanda with a jpg from a D800 raw image. I could not find any shutter click/actuation info....although it USED to be there.

In PhotoME (also free) I found shutter count under the tab "manufacturer's notes".....way at the bottom. I like PhotoME as it also shows the focus point.....

I just checked an older JPEG processed from my D50 using an earlier version of Opanda - all the info was there including shutter count, so this is an issue with the 2.4.0.....Mystery solved in that sense.

Once you have Opanda installed, you can find all of the file (jpeg) info by right clicking the file and selecting view exif by IExif

OK, I tried PhotoME, I see manufacturers notes clearly before I open a JPEG file, then that information disappears when the file is opened if I try to check anything using NX 2.4.0 it is fine for any files processed before this latest version, just as with Opanda.

What's up with that, Nikon?

Did you look under Manufacturer's notes in Photo ME? That's where I can find the shutter count info....

Have you taken a .jpg with the camera (instead of converting a raw with NX2), then tried Opanda and PhotoME?

This might isolate the problem to NX2....
