Orchids...from Florida trip

Recent visit to S. Florida...hot, but really nice flowers.... This with Nikon 70-300G f4-5.6 @ 170mm f7.1 1/250..... bought lens at local Wal-Mart for $89....D70 by the way.

Wow Mike! Thoise close-ups are stupendous! Doncha just wish these digital cameras had 'stop down' metering?

Thanks Chris.....yeah, I wish it too...but it ain't too hard once you find the right f stop.....

By the way.... I can't get over how your avatar keeps changing !! It makes me want to stop in every day to see what's coming next !!! Too cool.. :wink:

Beautiful shots Mike. Where in Florida were these taken?

Palm Beach..at the Breakers...they always have lots of flowers sitting around inside.....in the morning, about 10 o'clock, walk in the front entrance and sit down on a couch by the windows....on the coffee table by the couch will be some gorgeous orchids (no wind) and plenty of available sunlight... :wink:

They are a PHALAENOPSIS species I believe (don't claim to be an expert in the nomenclature)....thanks for your comments..

Yes....I am !! Love my old 55 2.8 micro too....It's amazing the bargains that are out there ..
