    Hi you'll,

One of the benefits of shooting in Florida is the very cooperative ospreys we have down here. I now have tons of ospreys pics so I'm gonna share a few with you.

Harry - Great shots, as usual. But do you have to keep rubbing it in about the gazillion ospreys and other birds down there? Just kidding. Keep the images coming....

    Those are great images.

I have a ton of ospreys in my area of Florida but I can't get anywhere near them to take an image that is worth while. I am using 600mm glass also.

What is your secret? I know you are wearing a big osprey suit.

    Hey Russ,

Thanks. Its not a secret its just location. I shoot in the Viera Wetlands. In the wetlands there's The Tree. Every raptor in the area roosts in The Tree . I have shot ospreys, caracaras, various hawks, bald eagles and a golden eagle all in The Tree. For some reason they are comfortable there and won't fly off as you shoot your butt off. The crested caracaras don't like the Better Beamer though.

  10. The Osprey always seems like such an agressive bird and your pictures show some of that. Well done shots.

Just to support what Harry says about The Tree, here's a couple of shots that I got last February in the very same location.

Thanks Gordon. I love shooting the osprey because they are very expressive birds.

    Ben,

I have just finished a letter requesting that The Tree be declared a national monument.

  17. Harry, I really enjoy seeing your Osprey shots. Some you have posted I would classify as "best I've seen". Can't wait to come shoot with you, Gale & Trish again! :)
