I was in good position to catch this male Osprey landing on the conduit next to its nest. I've seen him do this several times and he slips and has to rely on one talon every time... You'd think he'd learn!

Thanks for the ID Gale. I had been watching which one was on top when they were doing the nasty and I really thought this banded one had the top spot. I'll have to watch more carefully next time... Now that I see the difference in the crest's, it should be easier for me.

That was cool, thanks, Jim. Would hate to be on the wrong side of those talons!
Thanks Mike! I'd say I'd have to agree about the talons...

I sure hope to be watching our osprey's soon. In the mean time it is a joy to look at your great captures of the action Jim.
Thanks for the nice comments James. I hope yours return soon. they sure are fun to watch!

Very nice series Jim. So this Osprey has electricity in his nest? How civilized!
LOL! Thanks for looking Don.

what a great series.. cool!
thanks Ray!

Great series Jim...I am jealous
Thanks Brian. I was fortunate to have someone that knew where this nest is and pass that info along to me. I'm the only photographer there so I consider myself lucky...

Thanks Lou. We have them all over around here... I never realized how prevalent they were until this year. Good luck at Cape cod!

Jim where abouts in Pa. are you photographing them. Irv may be close to you and interested in a shot. If not to far I may be also. Good thing about the Cape is my son lives there and scouts the nests for me + I get a place to stay free. Long drive for me and getting old makes it longer.
