Nice shots, I like seeing blue sky too.

When shooting up into a bright blue sky and shooting dark birds I use center weighted metering and bump up the exposure from +.03 to +1 depending on the subject, reason is the subject is blocking the light, it helps with the shadows.

#1 is quite good. Randy teaches us to crop so the bird has some room to fly in the image. Perhaps a bit more space on the right side would help this shot.
