Painted Flowers

Discussion in 'Retouching and Post Processing' started by beaucamera, Aug 5, 2007.

  1. This montage has a painterly look, yet this was all done in Photoshop using a brush made from a cutout of a pink oleander flower.

  2. Virginia,

That has a very elegant and understated look to it ... nice job.
  3. Very nice Virginia. That's a nifty brush to have in your toolset.

    I like it a lot.
  5. Hi Virginia,

that's very beautiful! Did you already explain somewhere how to make such brushes?
  6. Thanks Bob, David, Bill and Sabrina.

    PS brushes are handy.
Sabrina they are very easy to make.
Just make sure your selections are smaller than 2500 pixels on a side.

To make this brush I extracted the oleander from the background first, then resized the image to 2500 pixels.

In PS under the edit menu you'll find the option to "define brush preset".
Click on that and save you brush. It's as simple as that.

Sabrina, I'd love to see what you're doing with custom brushes!
    Anyone else trying this technique?

Congrats on moving to your new condo!
Man, I know how much work that is.
I'm sure you'll enjoy that new space.

Wasn't quite sure what you are having trouble with...your comment above, but I hope whatever, things get worked out.

I'm still involved with my home "tune up".
There's dust, dirt and gear everywhere!
