Painting Bunting...I think...first one.

If this is a painting bunting female,its my first one. They arrived in my neighborhood 3 days ago, our naturalist in my community told me. It's been raining and windy for 4 days, so when it stopped for an hour I drove down to the river today and got off a few shots. I had spotted a male on a feeder,so I will be looking for him when the weather gets better. I did manage to get a shot of the male hanging on a feeder. The first 2 are at 250 and 125 of a second under windy conditions.

Very nice. Looks like a female Painted Bunting to me.

Weird how its always the males that look the most colorful for birds


Sorry I missed the I'd, I'm used to seeing pics of the males.

This is my #2 target species and i have yet to shoot a single one:frown:
