Palm Tree & Canal, Florida

  1. A little after sunrise today, overlooking the Bulow Creek area in the northern extremes of Ormond Beach.

    The road (Highbridge Rd) was built by a family that had a citrus grove there from the 1800s through the mid 1900s. I read somewhere that the canal was built to transport the citrus to the Halifax River for transport south to a train depot for shipment. At some point they lined the road with palm trees, a good number of which remain.

    Anyway, here's the picture:

    Love it! Ugh, I want that Tokina 12-24 so bad!!! Had to get something else first though for the baby. :rolleyes: :smile:
